Derbyshire Wedding Photography At Makeney Hall Hotel
When I first met Allison at a wedding fair we instantly hit it off, Alison is such a gentle and kind soul. Alison and Andy love to walk and Andy is a keen game shooter. With the lead up to the wedding Alison kept sending me pictures of her flowers she was making, all herself. I was amazed at how stunning they were, Alison is really creative, she incorporated Andy's shooting cartridges and feathers from his shoots. Every little detail was so important to Alison, the sense of love and all the effort was amazing, I knew it was going to be a fabulous day!
When I arrived at their venue Mackeney Hall Hotel the preparations were under way, it was a very chilled room with lots of gentle laughter. I enjoyed shooting all Alison's floristry, it was really emotional knowing she had made them all herself.
The venue had gardens to die for, you actually felt like you were at some kind of tropical paradise. It was an October wedding, we were so happy when the weather was crips, sunny and fresh as they wanted to use the outdoor ceremony area. We do no often get chance to shoot the ceremony outside in our country so I was delighted and super excited. It did not disappoint, when Alison walked down the little path to the pavilion she looked incredible, the atmosphere was amazing. It felt a little magical being outside.
After the ceremony with the congratulations flowing along with the drinks, we got all the family and friends together for a couple of group images, they were such a fun bunch, beaming from ear to ear!! Soon after we snook back into the gardens for some portraiture. It was so important for Alison and Andy to incorporate the pavilion into the portraiture…. I was not going to complain at that - hee hee!!
The image in the grand is one of my favourites of the day - the gardens look stunning, as do Alison and Andy, by using a vast perspective you feel the grande of the place. I love to use different perspective to push the frame.
The day was a blast, and went off to perfection. We got an amazing October sunset which we just had to sneak off for a couple of minutes to capture a little more portraiture. Once the sun went the party night started, and boy what a rowdy lot!! It was hilarious on the dance floor, inflatable everything came out and as you can imagine some very funny moves, even the worm made an appearance!! When the evening buffet was served we went back outside for a couple of night shots, the cold air hit us, it was very refreshing and the guys loved some time to themselves. It was then back inside for some more partying!!
It was such a lovely day and a privilege to be there. I have made a great and lovely friendship with Alison since her wedding and that makes it even more special!
