Glitter & Banter
Cheshire Wedding Photography at Peckforton Castle
I really don't know where to start with these two - fun and laughter happened from the word go! We had spoken on the phone a couple of times before arranging the engagement shoot in London as this is where Natalie and Ian lived. I knew instantly that they were such a fun loving couple. It was so easy and natural to photograph them both. We had so much fun and we finished their shoot in a lovely bar opposite St Pauls. (View Natalie & Ian's engagement photos).
So when I arrived on the morning of the wedding it was lovely to see Natalie again. I could tell instantly that all of her bridesmaids and amazing mum Bev were all so much fun! One bridesmaid in particular (she knows who she is - Sophie Brewster) was just awesome. She was so full of mischief, glitter and methodically done banter. Safe to say the banter in the room was so high I almost dropped my camera and had to take a breath! The room had a lovely atmosphere.
Once we started to walk down to the ceremony it hit Natalie, she had to compose herself with a little breath, the emotions started to kick in. The ceremony was lovely and again really reflected Natalie and Ian’s characters, they did a fist bump as their first kiss - so cool. Once the ceremony was over we went out of the Great Hall to the reception drinks outside where the owls were waiting to take flight. After they had a mingle we went off for a little wonder down to the forest where we did some portraits. Then it was back to join the guests and the wind took Natalies vail so I left under to capture its flight!!
Even though it was so much fun and such a light hearted feel to the day, it was very emotional. The wedding breakfast was called and the speeches went down a storm. Before the evening started we went out for a few more portraits and then it was time to party, and wow, I can safely say it was a party of all parties! It had an electric atmosphere and they never left the dance floor, it felt like I was in some kind of gig. The sax player Kat was adlibbing to the beat and it was crazy crazy great. They were all having an absolute ball, which brings me onto the glitter ball - how big?!
Back to the Sophie - who came up to me throughout the day and mentioned they were dong a surprise dance in tracksuits and flashing trainers (as you do); it did not disappoint. I thought Natalie and Ian were going to choke with laughter!
Natalie did not stop beaming from ear to ear all day long, I didn't take one frame of Natalie without a smile on her face, she really was the most amazing bride. Ian was such a lovely groom, he was so gentle and caring and really looked after his bride. They were an amazing family, bride and groom, I felt like part of the gang by the time I was leaving. Thank you for making me feel so part of your amazing day.
I wish you both a lifetime of happy fun times.
