The Chilled Affair
Wedding Photography at the Discovery Centre in Ecclesall Woods
To say Kirsty & Mikes wedding was different would be fake news! I have never shot at such a laid back affair, it was awesome. A very chilled vibe from the word go. No wedding breakfast, no line up, no speeches, no cake cutting, “you get the picture!” Just one chilled out party, in the woods, with a VW Camper Van, freshly made pizza’s, ice-cream, “Oh, and the bride & Groom!!”
Kirsty got ready from home surrounded by her family, maid of honour and her gorgeous little flower girl. Whilst Kirsty was on her way, Mike patiently waited for his bride to arrive. Mike and Kirsty had made the decision to walk down the Isle together, I know this breaks from tradition, it was actually very moving. There is something to be said for, in it together.
After the wonderful ceremony all the guest mingled and chilled, the rest of the day flowed beautifully, with lots more mingling and plenty of laughter.
The Discovery Centre in Ecclesall Woods Sheffield is such a unique venue, when I went for a peek before the wedding I knew it was going to be a very different style wedding. It was literally bursting with awesomeness! We just had to do the stuff - so off we went into the woods. We went rambling through the most stunning calm woodland, Mike was so attentive to Kirsty, helping with the dress like a true gent! Kirsty had been very particular in saying the woodland imagery was so important to her, which is why on their engagement shoot, we went urban. Kirsty was particularly interested in motion imagery, and wanted the trees to move- needles to say they did!
Some of the little ones at the wedding where cheeky little rascles, just after the guests threw the confetti, one went looking for dragons!!!!!!
Night time drew in, the dancing started, in good old Kayleigh fashion. It was an absolute blast. After Kirsty & Mike had thrown themselves about the dance floor we snook off outside for a cool down, and of course a few more images had to be done. We finished off later with an image from inside. All lines lead to love!
I wish Kirsty & Mike a wonderful married life. It was a fabulous day and I was so happy to have shared it with you all.
