Tanya + Richard The Performers Wedding of the Year!
When I first met Tanya we hit it off straight away, Tanya’s larger than life personality was so infectious. When she told me she performed in musical theatre it came as no surprise!!
We had a wonderful engagement shoot at Cannon Hall where I met Richard for the first time, and yes, a cheeky chap he was!! It was great to get to know them. Richard was also a performer and the lead singer in a band, so performing at their wedding was an obvious choice for them. I just knew it was going to be a good one!!
On the morning of the wedding we arrived nice and early, we bumped into Tanya and her maids in the hall of the hotel, it was such a buzzy atmosphere and the banter was flowing. Tanya was the happiest bride to be I had ever laid eyes on. Before we went to join the gang getting ready we snook away to shoot all the bridal details, I love this part too, its a chance to warm up, I always look round to see what can be utilised at a venue, so when I saw cherubs I was rather giddy, (sad I know, what ever floats ya boat hey!!) Her hair stylist is one of Tanya’s and Richard’s best friend, Ben Loy, also best man and band member….Ben was very quick to joke and point out, ‘talk about utilising’!!!
Tanya loves the 1950’s era so her dress reflected this, it was stunning, the top was embellished with beads and sequins, the sleeves gave it such an elegant twist. I instantly fell in love with it. I have to say it was very different and my favourite this year. Tanya was super organised, (this always helps for a smooth morning getting ready) As Tanya donned her dress she never stopped beaming from ear to ear. Her happiness was so infectious….it was a wonderful morning of preparations.
Tanya was ready for the most amazing walk of her life, it did not disappoint, it was truly amazing to see Tanya walk down the aisle to Richard, she was the most excited, exuberant and happy bride I've ever seen. Truly magical, it wasn't just the dress that sparkled!
The day went so fast and it was full of laughter, we snook off for a wander with Tanya & Richard so they could have a little time to themselves away from the madness. Behind the venue was a little secret door which led to an old derelict bungalow, this was all over grown, I'm sure to some would look hideous, however I was ecstatic!! We manouvered in and out of the brambles to capture some quick portraits, the colours were insane, the skies were also playing out that day too, with amazing colour and some awesome clouds.
After the wedding breakfast, cue the evening madness! Richard and the band set up, they were all ready for the first dance. Things got raucous, the atmosphere was electric. They performed one of the songs from Rent ( the last musical they were in with all their friends) They never left the dance floor from then on in, AMAZING!
It was a true honour to be part of this day and share all the fun. What a day!
